10 Dollar Tree Hacks

Dollar Tree Hacks for Saving Money

If you are looking for ways to save some money these Dollar Tree Hacks should helpt! Here are the 10 things I always buy there to save some money on things that are way more expensive at other stores.

dollar tree hacks must buys
1. Greeting Cards

Hands down cards are my number one thing I like to buy only at the Dollar Tree. You get 2 cards for $1.00! I have been buying them from the Dollar Tree for years now and randomly had to get a card from Walmart the other month on my way to a friend’s birthday… it was $7.00 and it was the cheapest one I could find! Yep definitely never doing that again. So trust me on this one buy all of your birthday, holiday, thank you cards, etc. from here and you’ll save enough to go get a coffee!

2. Gift Bags

Along the same lines as greeting cards is gift bags. They surprisingly have really cute gift bags at the Dollar tree and for only a dollar.. yes please! You can maybe get ones for $1.50 at a Target but they are the super small bags and others re anywhere from $4 to $10. So save yourself some money on something that isn’t used for too long.

3. Tissue Paper

Let’s just round off the gift-giving trio with tissue paper for your gift bag. Again only a dollar, and it has 8 sheets in it so you can use it for more than one present!

4. Pens

Another one of my favorite Dollar Tree hacks for saving money is to buy pens from there. I have had really good luck with the pens I buy there. I used to buy a lot of them for the classroom and they would tend to last longer than some of the name brand pens. A dollar compared to $5 to $10 for a pack sounds like a win to me!

5. Toothbrushes

This one you might think I’m a little crazy for but I’ve been buying our toothbrushes from the Dollar Tree for the last couple of years and guess what? They work the same as any other toothbrush (at least in my eyes!) They have some name brand ones even if you are still skeptical that you can get for $1.

6. Toothpaste

If you are heading on a trip or want some extra toothpaste for a spare bathroom this is a great option. These are about twice the size of the travel toothpaste you can get at another store so it’s a great option if you are looking or a little more!

7. Kids Books

I like getting board books from here that I can use on the go. Our little man loves books so it’s a nice little addition to his diaper bag to keep him entertained whether we are traveling or waiting at an appointment. They aren’t the longest books by any means but they serve their purpose for him!

8. Coloring Books

Why spend $8 on a coloring book that doesn’t get used for too long. If you have your little one along you can let them pick between the options and they won’t know the difference between a coloring book from the Dollar Tree or another store. They also have some giant coloring books during certain seasons that are extra fun! (oh and grab crayons while you are there too and save some extra money!)

9. Poster Board

Whether you want to do a craft at home with your little one or an older sibling has a school project the poster board from the Dollar Tree works great! They usually have a few options for colors and it’ll save you a couple of bucks.

Need Balloons? Party Decor? Plates? Napkins? The dollar tree is a great place to check out! You can quickly decorate a party with a waaaay smaller budget! My personal favorite is getting the balloons from there because it is so quick and inexpensive.

I hope you are able to save some extra money for yourself and your family with these Dollar Tree Hacks. Feel free to check them out online too before you go to the store! (Dollar Tree) Let me know if you have any favorite items from the Dollar Tree that I missed in the comments below!
