The Best Bedtime Stories For Babies

Our bedtime stories have always been a favorite part of our bedtime routine. As a teacher, I knew how important it was to read with our kids every night and I wanted to do it from the start. We have loved every minute of our nighttime reading with our 2-year-old son! We have TONS of books (I may be a little obsessed with buying them) so I wanted to share some of our favorite board book bedtime stories for babies! They are all about love because I can’t think of a better way to say goodnight than with I Love You books 🙂

8 Great Bedtime Stories For Babies

The best bedtime stories for babies

1. I Love You As Big As The World

This book will always be near and dear to my heart. It was the book I recorded my husband reading to our son before he deployed for 8 months. He deployed when our little man was 3 weeks old so I played it every night at bedtime until Dad was home again. So I may be a little bias when putting this book at number one but it is a great book! It’s all about the different ways to say how much you love your little one. Super-Cute!

2. I Love You Little One

This book is adorable. It is a little longer than our other bedtime stories but not by too much.  This story is about a parent explaining their love for their little one using the 5 senses.  Such as by holding their hand (touch), singing a song (hear), or cooking food (taste). You and your little one will love reading it!

3. Love

This cute book explains love to your little one through opposites and everyday things. I really enjoy reading this book with our son because we are able to do so many actions with it while we read. Such as big and strong, or tickle and fly.

4. You Are My I Love You

This story is so precious. The book goes through comparing a parent to a child with opposites. Like a calm face to a giggle or a way home to a new path. I love how relatable some of the pages can be and how it all ends with the fact that your child is your I love you.

5. A Lullaby For Little One

This book is meant more for a Dad to be reading it to their little one because it’s a Daddy rabbit in the story. So if you are looking for a great story just for Dad this is it! It’s about a Dad and his little one having a great day of playing and the little one gets tired so the Dad rocks him to sleep. It’s a cute quick book that has great rhyming in it!

6. Mommy Wishes

I am pretty sure I start tearing up every time I read this book to our son because it just warms my heart! This book is about a Mommy making a wish with a dandelion.  With each little seed that blows away, she has a wish for her little one for their future and characteristics they will have. It’s obviously a book for a Mommy to read if you are looking for a story from Mama!

7. Wish

This is a great bedtime story for babies. It is pretty short and sweet but talks all about how a parent and child spend their days together and how the parent guides the child. Then when the child gets older they go off on their own and the parent just wants all of their child’s wishes to come true.

8. Always

This is another great bedtime book. It is by the same author as the last one and is also a quick read aloud. This one is about how a parent will love their child ALWAYS no matter how they are acting or what they do, they will always be loved.

Always
