Finger Print Lights
This printable comes with swirly lines and the words Merry and Bright printed on it. You and your toddler can then get some paint and use their fingerprints to make the Christmas lights along the string. It turns out super cute! One way you can add in some learning is by having your little one pick the colors they want to use. “Should we use green or red next?” I helped guide our son’s finger too while saying the word “stamp” to help him connect the word with the action.
Build a Christmas Tree
This printable has all of the parts for you to create a Christmas tree with your kiddo. It can work for any toddler from 1 to 5 all you need to do is adapt which parts they help with. With our almost 2-year-old son I gave him all of the parts that would be green and gave him a paintbrush and green paint to paint them as he would like. I continued that with each color. Then once they dried I cut and glued the pieces together. Depending on your toddler’s age they can help with cutting and gluing or picking the colors themselves.
Fork Paint Christmas Tree
With this print out it just has “Merry Christmas” typed at the bottom so you could turn it into anything you’d like but we had fun making a fork paint Christmas Tree with it. I let our little man use a plastic fork to stamp on the lines to make a Christmas tree (guiding his hand at times). He loved the new idea of painting with something other than a brush and his fingers. Then at the end, I grabbed some Qtips to let him dot on some lights for his tree too!
These activities were really fun for both of us to do together. Also included in the pdf is a coloring page for your little one. Let me know if you have any fun Christmas crafts for toddlers to make in the comments below!
